Flood Warning

Meteorological Department has issued an alert of possible flooding in parts of the Rift Valley, Western Kenya, and the Aberdares and Mt. Kenya highlands where heavy rains are expected in the next three days.

On Thursday, October 12, areas under threat of heavy rainfall and possible floods may extend to parts of Western Kenya, Central Rift Valley and Mt. Kenya highlands.

A similar situation may be experienced on Friday October 13, but may be confined to fewer areas around the Mt. Elgon region, added the director.

On Thursday, October 12, the epicenter will shift to the Central Rift Valley and Western Kenya with Trans Nzoia, Bungoma, Laikipia, and parts of Samburu, Kericho, Bomet, Migori, Nakuru and parts of Narok counties mostly affected.

On Friday, October 13, the heavy rains may remain in Counties around Mt. Elgon,” he explained.

I am really anticipating for them, the wells, taps, dams, rivers are dry, the bananas plants are also dry ,and also wish our Maasai livestock keepers take away their herds from the major highways and dry lands and maybe relocate to their natural habitats.
