Hey guys am rili having trouble with my freesat v7 combo…am fairly new to satellite stuff bt am sure I got the basics… 4 starters, am trying to nab nilesat at my location with this readings that I got from various dish pointer apps on my phone… 270° azimuth, skew - 89.8,elavation 40.1…I’m using a dstv dish and in nakuru… The strength is always 60% however much I turn n tilt the dish while quality neva shifts from zero… Oh n btw quality goes to 30% wen I enter satellite settings on the tv bt reverts to zero after less than 5 seconds n stays like that until I exit… Now wat could b the problem? 2ndly wat other satellites can u recommend coz am into discovery channels, movies, cartoons n sports?

Thanks bt av been thru the ‘class’ n actually got the hang of things… Wat boggles me is how am seemingly getting no headway in nabbing Sat’s.plus hakuna obstacles n got a clear line of sight of the horizon from the dish
How are you doing it? Do you have a sat finder@?. Be sure of the satellites you want to receive then at least input a specific frequency of a tp with it’s correct sample rate and orientation manually kwa decoder before you search.
Nilesat at 7w and eutelsat 8.0w are your good starting points it’s just around that elevation you quoted
Find a bigger dish i tried that nabbed the sat but did not get the above channels ask @Meria Mata to kindly assist you
