The proprietary trading firm Futures First has closed its Kenyan branch. They listed falling global commodity prices and lack of local talent as reasons for exit.
My sympathy is with the young graduates who got laid off. Some have joined Centum, others NSE...wishing the rest soft landing.
Now to my 2cents. Citing falling prices is lame. When prices fall traders short sell. Heck I make wins in 70% of my short sells. Second, the guys there were traders so they understood the concept above.
Lastly the fellows who used to trade there should go on their own.

Hey Alchemist.
We have a developed a proprietory program for trading futures and our 12 year compounded returns(kshs) equate to 22.49% (2005-2016). We are currently looking for a strategic investor to invest $120,0000 whom we will guarantee off-take before investments since we are in talks with fund managers who like the product and may be will to partner after certain conditions are met. Can you be interested or do u know any investor who would be interested???

Sorry to disappoint you @Dwambaa the investors I know will shy away from your deal dude coz of low returns that you sight. 10 years for 22.49% is a waste of capital and effort. Even unit trusts can not do so dismally.
20% within four months or less could have been acceptable, attractive even.
