Uwongo. I find it hard to believe that life has become more financially challenging for the middle class. The only guys who are genuinely suffering ni peasant class, but that isn’t new. The government could be as rich as its citizens if they sealed all tax loopholes and taxed people in the informal sector.
I agree with you that corruption is a drag on the economy. That, and an over bloated government have been addressed as frontiers for cutting down waste. However, more scrutiny is needed on the KRA side (government revenue). Their projection is about $1.2 trillion this fiscal year but this figure can be easily doubled with a more discerning tax formula.
Kenyans have no idea what paying crazy taxes can look like, wakuje huku first world where we are taxed to death bila kusumbua.
