I have a Volkswagen golf mk4 and had the transmission mount replaced, which involved removing the gear box and placing it back. Now when the gear is on drive it does not shift when accelerating. Instead, the RPM just rises making it consume more fuel. Has anyone ever experienced this cause I do not want to take it back to the mechanic as he might make it worse.
I recently changed the transmission fluid but that has not helped in any way.
No man. manually inspect the vehicle to see what wire plug is broken or not connected. OR Look for people to make a diagnosis to get what circuits arent working.
And that car has a reputation of a failing gearbox.
Ask me about my fuel lamp or my stove… Nkinunua gari i will make the whole world know, take a trip to shagz wanicheki, go for my former school alumni celebrations ,take a trip to all 4 corners of Kenya, make awesome love to my empress in it and lastly i would know more and even help you with your problems…
Maybe the strainer could be blocked! When that is the case its usually removed and cleaned using petrol to unblock it.
If that doesn’t help try changing the gears manually. One would wonder how you do it on an automatic gear! Its not that technical, when the rpm gets to where the gears should change automatically, let go of the accelerator and pump it twice or thrice. If the gears dont change, your gearbox is broken
