The following hekaya is a true account of events as remembered.
When I was in class three, my family was small. Then, I had only one brother who we competed fiercely for everything from food, bed, mkate asubuhi, na also pencil nani atapata side ya rubber ikikatwa na nusu nike father always did. Grandpa was an old pleasant man, and we always looked up to his coming. He drove an old chevey and always at 40kph. Every time, he brought mandazi which we ate hungrily competing all the time but not infront of him and after visiting our farm, we would pay by removing black jacks from his trousers then he would go back.
One fatefull day, I was given a mountain of homework and coincidentally, grandpa akakuja. Due to the amount of work, I didn’t even notice but Bro akajua leo ni siku yake. Alichukua mandazi na kukula yote. Alikuja na nusu akasema ndio ameambiwa anipee. Nkakula but it was very suspicious. Kupiga investigation nkajua nimecheswa. I tell you vita ilikuwa hio Nyumba middle east kando. Ilikuwa mashambulizi kuliko ile husemwa na DJ afro (hapo shashaa, amepiga Jeki aina ya dafrau, na yeye karudisha kombora lipu lipu ,…mamayoo). Mama had to call neiba kumsaidia kutuachanisha huku akipiga nduru ati tunauana. When Grandpa alikuja akatupata tukiadhibiwa akaingia kwa gari (Due to the much love alikuwa nayo kwetu hakutupiga) and those were the last Mandazi he ever brought. I still miss those Mandazi. Hekaya nayo!!!
