Happy New Year 2021

Why lie I have never been so glad to enter a New Year and kiss the last goodbye. I always pray for my family and friends and myselfu of course before I leave home every morning according to Psalms 91 but I have never understood how much God does to protect us from all manner of evils. I used to look at people on the road wearing masks and I am like wah God has been doing a very big job of protecting our health, its just that we don’t know.

I learned to enjoy being at home for the first time in a long time I was inside my home for 3.5 months out of 12. I had time to read, cook, pray and introspect about so many things. As they say when your life is threatened your priorities line up very first. You are stripped of everything but the essentials.

This year I lost my uncle who battled blood cancer bravely for 8 years. He decided to be cremated. I bet he’s the first Meru ever to be cremated. A lawyer in my building very polite short fella who always waited for all the ladies to leave the lift before him, an elderly gentleman and a pastor friend who was my spiritual father in 2013 succumbed to Covid.

I must say, I have never understood the paramountness of God more than this year. When you have no distractions and are just couped up in the house, things become very clear, very fast. God is everything my people. God is everything. Remember the parable of the big stones and the small pebbles fitting in a jar. For everything to fit, you have to put in the big ones first for everything to fit, if you put the small ones it’s impossible for the small ones to fit. God is the biggest stone and if you give Him first everything else will fit perfectly but if you let the nitty gritties of life, the important and big things will be displaced.

I wish you all a happy new year 2021. Please don’t forget to thank God for the miracle of a new year. The miracle of family and people who love you and would do anything for you.

Leave grudges behind. Forgive everyone who has wronged just like God is wiping your sins of 2020 away. Don’t be like that servant in the Bible who was forgiven a big loan by his master but couldn’t forgive some one who had a small debt of his. He was ungrateful.

If the year has been tough for you. Have hope. Never give up for hope springs eternal. The Lord loves you and cares about what concerns you, do not let the harshness of life make you forget how kind and merciful God really is.

May the Lord send His angels to prepare a way for you.
May the Lord bless you and keep you may the Lord be gracious to you and make His face to shine upon you. That you shall be blessed when you are in the city or the country. May the Lord bless the work of your hands.

May the Strength of God pilot us.

May the Power of God preserve us.

May the Wisdom of God instruct us.

May the Hand of God protect us.

May the Way of God direct us.

May the Shield of God defend us.

May the Host of God guard us

Against the snares of the evil ones,

Against temptations of the world.

May Christ be with us!

May Christ be before us!

May Christ be in us,

Christ be over all!

May Thy Salvation, Lord,

Always be ours,

This new year 2021, O Lord, and evermore. Amen.

Psalm 911Psalm 911He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. [1]2I will say [2] of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.“3Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.4He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.5You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,6nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.7A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.8You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.9If you make the Most High your dwelling-- even the LORD, who is my refuge–10then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.11For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;12they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.13You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.14"Because he loves me,” says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.15He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.16With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.

May we hold lovingly in our thoughts those who suffer from tyranny, subjection, cruelty, and injustice, and work every day towards the alleviation of their suffering.
May we recognize our solidarity with the stranger, outcast, downtrodden, abused, and deprived, that no human being be treated as “other,” that our common humanity weaves us together in one fabric of mutuality, one garment of destiny.
May we pursue the Biblical prophet’s vision of peace, that we might live harmoniously with each other and side by side, respecting differences, cherishing diversity, with no one exploiting the weak, each living without fear of the other, each revering Divinity in every human soul.
May we struggle against institutional injustice, free those from oppression and contempt, act with purity of heart and mind, despising none, defrauding none, hating none, cherishing all, honoring every child of God, every creature of the earth.
May the Jewish people, the state of Israel, and all peoples know peace in this New Year, and may we nurture kindness and love everywhere.

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has kept us alive and sustained us and brought us to this new year ," the prayer reads in English. In Hebrew, it’s pronounced, “Barukh ata adonai elohenu melekh ha’olam, shehecheyanu, v’kiyimanu, v’higiyanu la’z’man ha’zeh.”

Amen.
Thank you, Truwoman. I needed to hear these words of hope, badly.
HAPPY AND BLESSED NEW YEAR

You too darl’

I once told u that u inherited very shoddy genes. You will also succumb to cancer very soon.

It is written,
I will bless those who bless you,
But I will curse those who curse you.

And through you I will bless all the nations.
Gen 12:3.
Beware what you wish on others.
Happy New Year, anyway

My dear are you in the place of God? I shall live to a ripe old age because according to 115 yr old spinster, the key to a long life is to avoid men like you, I will retire with not even a runny nose, at 125 years, peacefully in my sleep. But Happy New Year to you too. Btw the guy was 75 and lived with diabetes and one kidney for over 30 years. Even though he’s not a blood relative, but an inlaw, I sure wish I had his genes, I have never seen the tenacity and positive attitude that that man had in anyone. MHSRIP.

2020 men. No words can describe for me.

Has sure been a tough one on humanity.
Thank @TrumanCapote for these prayers.
