Has Covid-19 impacted you financially?

I’m sorry if this is a touchy subject but we must realize that we are all in this together.

Do you anticipate not paying your bills due to the recent lockdowns in your city and the slowing economy?
Had you saved enough for a rainy day? Have you made any adjustments to your budget?

There will be difficult times ahead for most people around the world but we will SURVIVE and live to tell the story.

Don’t be discouraged, hang in there and may God bless you.

PS imeshika kushika, watoto wenu bado wanakuja kucheza ata na hii scare. Today I’ll close early kupima hewa, but from tomorrow I’ll just bribe any cops that come with kiherehere to demand that I shut down. shs 200 should be enough chai.

Lucky for you but you should start preparing for a forced lockdown in the near future. Even your neighbors will tell on you to the authorities and you may have no option but to close shop. Will that loss of income impact you? Think about it .

No need to bribe or try devious acts. Just install appropriate hygiene measures and show the authorities that you are fully compliant with the laid down regulations.

Everyone is using this excuse not to pay their loans. Kwanza mobile money lenders last week wamekipata.

This one you can even transfer the business to your room and still enjoy the pay. Wengine tuko kwa unpaid leave and little did we knew the world was coming to this and so we dint save as much.

Sahizi wajaribu mistake ya kupeana loan watakipata

Here’s our budget breakdown for a typical month:

Disability insurance - $570
Life insurance- $92
Gas/electric bill - ~ $150
Home internet - $55
Food/toiletries ~$500
Gas/petrol- $200

Total- approx $4490

Thankfully job haijakatika but I’m thinking of ways to cut back, just in case of anything. People are going to be in a world of hurt very soon. Sad!

I don’t think the excuses are unfounded. Things are about to get really scary from the economic side.

I’m imagining a lockdown won’t last more than a week, there’s no way people will remain in their homes without work or food, it will be anarchy. The government will have a lockdown on paper but they’ll have to turn a blind eye to most activities.

I wish this thing passes but I see a situation where they could bring in the army and force people to stay indoors. Just wait and see. It’s already happening over here.

Kuna tu-stock nilikuwa nimeshika. Zimelambwa kulambwa. Year to date return ni -24.9%

The stocks are down, even the safe blue chip considered, everyone is dumping stocks even government bonds are not lucky…I don’t know when the prices will recover. 2020 will be like the 1929 years…shiit repeated itself in a century.

In developed countries a lockdown can be better enforced. The government can guarantee basic rations and supply utilities. Huku tunaambiwa uko lockdown at your own cost. It doesn’t matter what weapons they have, they can’t control a hungry populace.

Stay safe. My sister who works in a huge hospital in Ohio wako na very many cases and she’s really scared.
Once again, stay safe

Some clients who issued p.d cheques have already started calling.

Shikilia hiyo cheque kwanza ntaku ambia baadaye. Its already tough. Kenya we live from hand to mouth, sadly.

USA has overtaken Spain and Germany it’ds now number sree in terms of cases.

How’s your wife doing? I think it’s harder on non-medical spouses coz you always imagine the worst. But she will be fine, don’t worry.
Our mortgage company said no one has to pay anything for the next 3 months but we’re still doing it, until I guess things get worse or the dollar collapses, we pray not.
