Former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has resigned as Wiper Secretary General in another blow to the party that is reeling from defections following the bungled nominations.
In his letter, Hassan indicated that: “circumstances as pertains to the steps I wish to take to seek electoral justice as indeed was your quest in the Supreme Court as NASA, the reorganization of my politics, if at all and my endeavours towards scholarship, personal development and repositioning the discourse for social justice and accountability in Mombasa and the Coast region through non-state actors makes my position as Secretary General untenable.”
Hassan who unsuccessfully vied for the Mombasa governor’s seat in the August 8 poll has officially submitted his resignation letter to party leader Kalonzo Musyoka saying that he will not take part in NASA campaigns for the repeat presidential election slated for the next month.
