It was a wonderful morning. The breakfast, cold tea with two slices of kenblest bread,taken at 5 am, you can not survive hunger pangs before sunrise. Lucky dudes who manage to hustle an extra block the evening b4 are the ones who, at least, survive it.
Morning parade follows forth with words of encouragement from CDI and CO.We are told to perform a very good parade coz DDG Was coming to inspect. And our performance entails our passing out parade. Come mid morn till noon the parade ran well. The DDG was impressed and he left recruits with shitty smiles… “allowances on the way and you will be given ur phones back…” That afternoon everybody was handed his/her phone back.
I received mine,top up the line and communication started…
Mamas boy, I call mum first…all is well at home. Sis married n five goats, from dowry, are already on my name. That is good, after passout I would have a full goat to slaughter… forget about a miniature piece of meat and salty watery soup I got here.
Next on call was Anna,an apple of my eye,… It went through… Her melodious voice replied on the other end making a cool breeze of peace descend on my heart, and the huge boulder of troubles and bereavements melted away.
