Help. Getting wife back

Hi, I'm new here but I have been watching from the sidelines for a while.I have a question especially to the Kikuyu men. When a kikuyu wife goes back to her parents due to some disagreements, how do you go for her? She wants to come back home but she says I have to go for her. In our culture we rarely go to in-laws so I'm a bit hesitant. Is there fines, wazees or anything I should know about.
Thanks.

Gather a couple of wazees and carry some cash in case you are fined should you be found to be the offending party and give notice of the day you are going to get her back in advance, you just don't barge into your in laws unannounced under such circumstances.

I'm the one on the wrong but we have been talking and have decided to soldier on.

You have to go with some of your male folks to apologize/talk it over and carry cash and gifts. Na akirudi mkataze hiyo tabia- you need to talk over issues like adults. My neighbor here hata aliwacha kuendea Bibi Murang'a juu alikuwa amedevelop tabia ya somehow there was always an argument when her family in shagz need money- usually time ya kurudi shule- and running home so the hubby can come for her was an easy way for the family to get money for fees or something. (She's the first born of 9, the last born is in class 2). Sasa jamaa huwa hashughuliki Bibi akienda, anajua job itamrudisha within a week. (Before he'd go for her the next day, usually alikuwa anatoroka hapo Thursday-Friday, and each time he forks out at least 30k cash and other gifts.)
