i have noted that whenever one in my contact joins Telegram, am notified by the same app. Question is, am still getting notifications for numbers, i deleted kitambo sana and they have the exact names as i had saved under my contacts

It depends where you delete the contact from. There are local copies (in device) and copies on your Google account, you have to delete the contact from both places, because if sync is enabled it will automatically re-add them. But if you did delete it from both places, then it could be an error (Things like this do happen sometimes).

I think it only applies to the Google account, even if you switch devices, you still get notifications of the person joining telegram, the funny thing, it’s the name you first saved that contact with that shows up

recently i’ve had two acquaintances call me all excited that i finally joined whatsapp…apparently it is an airtel number i discarded long time ago that has been reactivated by the network (for someone else i presume)…

Telegram has a contact cloud backup am guessing vile huwa inabackup messages pia contacts are backed up.
I contacted them they claimed am using unofficial app…ie Plus Telegram i told them to suck my nuts:D

One might have like 20 of his contacts join the same group, how will I be anonymous? Unless one joins Telegram using a new number.
@mayekeke your contacts are only visible to those who have ur contacts, the rest ni username tu that u can change if n whenever u want
