High court: You don't require a degree to be president

Dynaste baya hasora tawaraa

The CEO of the country doesn’t need a degree,

@magreb how is your gospel doing so far?

You place too much emphasis on papers and not enough on reality, what about those who couldn’t attain formal education? are they not Kenyans…or are we an all animals are equal but degree holders are more equal scenario?

I will not tire in spreading the gospel. Like kanisa takatifu LA katoliki, hakuna kulazimisha mtu afuate maagizo ya kidini. However, Kenyans should be ready to live with the consequences of kukosa degree and even worse, electing into office degree less idiots or those with questionable degrees. Uhuru had a “degree” in economics from Amherst where there are no records of his attendance. We all know how it ended for Kenyans. Moi too lacked a degree save for the honorary ones awarded to him by walamba matako. Tunajua yaliojiri. They were radically different from Kibaki who had a verifiable degree. Sasa juzi mmechagua a PhD holder who acquired it akirandaranda. Kaeni tuu hapo mgonjee yatakayojiri. Lakini tafuta degree hata ya woodwork. You will thank me.

Ushawahi ona crusade ya wakatoliki ama hata uponyaji kwa any catholic church?

Catholic church management is reserved for men, pahali kuna wanawake kuna uchawi mingi sana

Degree ingekusaidia kuelewa what I am going on about. Anyway, just like how the catholic church will not force you to heed to the gospel pia hautalazimishiwa degree.

So what exactly is your excuse?

if you are 18 na una ID then you should be eligible to stand for any Seat in Kenya. If people want to elect a semi illiterate baffoon hiyo ni shida yao. Is that not their right?
Some of these vikwazos i dont see them in the West and yet They are doing much better when it comes to governing themselves .

We have to suffer fools gladly in a democracy like Ke and nothing much we can do about it. Imagine an illiterate like @horus07 being in an elective position. That society is doomed from the word go.

Thing about education is that you don’t really know it’s value until you take it.

Shida ya education system yetu is that it doesn’t give a true picture of one’s capabilities.

Kuna watu wako na hadi masters na phd lakini kila saa akifungua mdomo anakukumbusha tu venye hana akili ata moja.

Ultimately, I think it is the self awareness that one gain as they grow and interract with their environment that matters.

I prefer to keep an argument in it’s specific mode, and the OP posted something about degrees and leadership to which I said it’s a move in the right direction.

That’s my argument, that some people in spite of their papers they turn out to be as dumb as a rock.

Context is important: Moi had a teaching diploma in the 1940s. How many Kenyans had a diploma in that era?

Moi was not an idiot like most people think. In fact, he was one of the people that helped to draft Kenya’s first constitution at Lancaster House Conference. Kibaki was also there.

But I agree, a degree is very important.

In addition to a degree, I would also institute a physical fitness test, broadcasted live. The president should have the stamina to handle demands of the job. Long ago, leaders would lead the army in battle against enemies.

Finally, an integrity test/audit. They should be able to account for every penny they have

you must be educated to run the country properly, we cant let buffoons run this country to the ground

It’s because they have a working system in place.
And it’s also because people there actually care about their country to not let buffoons run it down. And even where you think a buffoon is in charge, the executive and system is so efficient that things just tick. We also have separation of powers.
And so forth. So much that we don’t have here.
Now, let’s come to Kenya.
Are you ready to have a degree-less person in charge of professionals and experts? How will this person even comprehend what he’s being advised on? What about changing/improving systems and processes? Far as I know, exam cheating in Kenya ended when a doctor and a professor were in charge. What’s happening now and what does that ring to you?
