Anyways, I was dead-set on a 49"/50" Samsung NU7100 hadi mzungu flani on AVforums akaniambia ni shit, so right now I’m trying to see whether 55" Hisense A6100 itakuwa sawa.
I’m dead if I make my Dad spend 60G’s on a TV na ikufe in a year or two, might as well die with it, kwanza vile haka kaSony tumekuwa nako tangu 2010 so the expectations are high. Kama kuna watu wametumia these specific versions, ama wana “hekaya” ya their experiences with them, ningeappreciate. Bonus btw: Nugu on Samsung walitoa DTS support on their 2018 and onward models juu ya kuwa cheap, so unaweza pata most movies uko nazo hazitacheza. It’s a caveat I’m willing to live with just as long as it lasts.

ati ‘budget variana of sony’. Hisense is a chinese manufacturer in top 3 slot of electronics manufacturers in China. That means in a market of 1.4 billion people. And Chinese buy their own TVs. read reviews vizuri ndio uamue, each model is different from the next so make sure you are buying a good one. From this year you should see less fakes for TVs, fake hisense historically existed in the Kenyan market. Starting end of the previous year, the chinese government banned export of any unbranded TV sets, that’s how most of the fakes flooded the markets of other countries. But I’m not really a fan of shaina, so mbuy samsung

Samsung concentrates on pictures only. LG TVs have features. Their TVs are both terrestrial and satellite enabled. Their premium TVs have Bluetooth by default. They have magic remote, which is really magical!
Ubaya ya Samsung ni vile wamechuck support for DTS, so support for some files itakuwa shida. Na pia I’m hearing stories of their panel lottery not being a for sure for sure thing. Man hii kitu…Thanks, I think I’ll lean towards the Samsung.
I think all TV’s these days have both types of decoders, but nimeanza kusomea mambo ya FTA leo leo tu, sitajifanya chief wa mambo. LG have the best OS but for the money I’m working with, hawana kitu nataka. There was a UK6400 ningenunua but story ya IPS panel na nini ilinisumbua tu sana.
LG UHD TVs have features that you could kill for. And, please, don’t take the Bluetooth feature for granted! You will be able to connect the TV wirelessly with your soundbar, your phone, any other Bluetooth enabled device, and all of them at once!!! Plus you listen to your music from another device via Bluetooth while you watch pictures on the same TV. And it’s artificial intelligence is from an other world!!!
The only reason I was cancelling out LG was cause the one that was in the running ilikuwa na IPS panel, but now I’m thinking that this could be a necessary evil, plus we get better viewing angles. Nimeona perks zingine and now naona kama nitarudi kwa LG kama vile fala hurudi kwa ex akishikwa na manjaa.

Thanks @Soprano, I’ve decided to go with the LG UK6300, which I can get for 55k and comes with a 2yr warranty plus it’s with the magic remote. Viewing angles ni plus, blacks ni poor, but codecs zake ziko fiti, so should be able to play anything I throw at it.
Word of advice. I hope you know how both lg and Samsung warrant look like. If you buy a foreign model be rest assured stories ya warranty ni hekaya.ikispoil they won’t service your TV.I tried buying a TV last year,Samsung asked for the warranty naambiwa no 2 years kuna card unapewa that doesn’t really work in Kenya.just be careful
Siwezi kataa na hayo, but I just learnt that LG have a service centre here. I’ll check kama mjamaa ako licensed. Lakini ata kama, my experience with Sam-sap ni at lower prices, they don’t give two shits while LG wako sawa quality-wise at all price points…but that VA panel though…though naona story ya kutoweza cheza format zote ndio itanimalizia story na Tham-thung. Story ya kunconvert movies nataka kuacha sasa. Lappy kamechoka kazi.

LG telly ziko sawa but vile umeadviciwa hapo juu thyl ruka when any issues occur saying ts not local. had a similar case when KPLC shorted mine. waliruka vizuri sana. fortunately it was insured and KPLC walitoa kakitu as it was the whole neighbourhood that had issues.
