They were replaced by home theatres. I have one Sony MHC G50 still operational bought in the later nineties. Has no USB and not compatible with mp3 or dvd. The speakers are top notch.

natumia bado since 2008,5.1 with 3 disc changer na sub ya 25…nikiwakisha ,dogi ya jirani inlostigi for a few hours.Naitumiaga mainly kwa movies,the speakers are well tuned

I had 3 CD changer as well, GRX-5.
Some bastards broke into my keja and stole it. Speakers are top-notch.

So how would you compare the sound to a 30k Sony Home Theater?

Its the same brother, especially when it comes to 3D sound effects,I i get more kick from the woofer whereas the home theater has a sub but depending on the wallet majority are smaller though the sound is crispier compared to the bulk i have.like now im listening to rhumba which was more live recording ,I can place each instrument’s position.Listening to LP’s itafanya usikie kuingia ndani ya speaker . Remember the TW7 sony layers?Zile za watu ya kisiwa victoria,the speakers are quite symphonic.Matha anakuaga amekaficha kwa store,napangia kumtembelea kumshow vile iko na “virus” itashikisha equipments zingine,hadi simu, ju ya kukaa sana kwa store:D:D:D:D
