KRA are hawks, no company can dare post profit in this times. Know your business.

There was something about listing or issuing shares sometime not so long ago… How did it go?
Cannot invest in Kenyan companies because they cook books and one is left holding token paper. Some top performers of yesteryear like East African Cables are doing dismally.

Their problem lies in their high direct costs. Looks cooked

Pipi ya mike rabar ndio finance director. Hapa tumechezwa

That was an exit plan that failed.Kenyans were not buying their shit. How do you invest in a company whose MD is the founder and the wife the finance manager?

A number of companies report losses but still end up paying taxes. This is because there’s a difference between accounting profits and tax profits

Nimeangalia hizo accounts and already I have seen 2 mistakes.

  1. Tax charge/ credit cannot be zero
  2. Retained earnings figure is wrong

since they dont own HBR, what other business do they run? that listing was very suspicious

Can you explain this one. Sounds like cooking books.

Presumably TAXES that aren’t based on profit like VAT, rates, licenses… , not very sure about PAYE

Bwana Okis comment on their Cash flow. I think it tells the whole story of the shenanigans going on.

Not cooking books but KRA have their own formula of computing profits. For example, many companies make donations every year. But some of those donations are disallowed by KRA.
