Recently droped a hp 32 GB flash drive in water and when i tried to open it with a laptop… it keeps finding the drive for minutes and never opens.Need help.
Plugging it on a USB port while it’s still wet was what messed you up most likely. Try drying completely using a blow drier or rice or something and try again.
Careful not to fry your USB port.
Perhaps there’s still moisture in the enclosure. Take a cup of dry rice and submerge it in there for 24 hours. If it’s being recognized, that’s a good sign.
Once the drive is readable, download Recuva from Piriform (free) and recover whatever you can just in case corrosion has set in.

if all the above methods dont work and you really have very important data in there say a bitcoin wallet or something then you can unsolder the memory chip and solder it into a new board or if its the bga type then you can first try reflowing the solder, i did this once not an easy task but lazima kitunguu inuke au sio
