The internet has taken over the world by a storm!
Statistics state that it is easier to find a Wi - Fi connection than it is to find clean, germ - free water to drink.
To be honest, I would rather be thirsty but have some Wi - Fi somewhere to quench my humour from all the craziness of #KOT on Twitter; or live - stream the UEFA Champions League Final from the comfort of my bedsitter.
Anyway, how do you tell how fast your Internet Speed is?
There are hundreds of ways but I will take you through a simple hassle - free one that will give you instant results before the song you are currently listening to on YouTube ends.
  1. Go to your Browser
  2. Type the words Speedtest Telstra
  3. A couple of websites (and probably ads) will appear. Search for this link and click on it https://speedtest.telstra.com/
  4. It will take you to an interface with the words Measure your connection speed for your Telstra nbnTM, ADSL, Cable or mobile data service and a Flickering Go Button
  5. Click on the Go Button
  6. Drag the cursor downwards and it will automatically calculate your Download and Upload Speed.
There you go.
So how do you tell your internet is fast enough?
Your average Download Speed should be between 10 MBPs and 15 MBPs.
For those with no clue what this means, it's simply a measure of how much data you Download, Stream or websites load per second.
For instance, if you are downloading 2GB Movie (2000 MBs), and your speed is 10 MBPs, it means you will download approximately 600 MBs in a minute (60 seconds * 10MBPs) , 1200 MBs in 2 minutes, 1800 MBs in 2 minutes and 2400 MBs (2.4GB). Therefore, your download should last slightly over 4 minutes, due to the flactuations and bufferings.
So, how fast is your internet?
