In the 3rd world most people join the military for job security, not patriotism. That doesn’t mean they enjoy serving corrupt commanders but they don’t really care either. That’s why they always say “thats above my pay grade” in response to criticism of their governments. They’re telling you they don’t care because it’s not their problem.
So long as we don’t have conscription in Kenya no one who joins the forces should complain.
