It’s never over, until the fat lady sings, or until it is actually over.
Today will play a pivotal part in the history of Kenyan elections.
Uhuru after the court ruling that nullified the elections of 08/08 went hurling matusi, even went as far as threatening the same judges that might decide his fate or that of the October 26 elections. These judges are human beings too that have struggled hard to get to the pinnacle of their careers. They have families too. They listen and watched what was said.
Imagine someone hurling insults at you and then sending emissaries (read - lawyers in this case) to plead your case. Wanting to carry favor with them. In this case the interpretation of the law will be read in its strictest manner, whereby it could have been less stringent, maybe, had it not been for THE INSULTS.
The bench isn’t tied to always rule in the same way. Justice Mohammed Ibrahim may be back and Smokin Wanjala’s conscience may have been pricked by the recklessness of the previous ruling and the direction the country is headed to make a completely different decision.
