Hunger and famine senior elders,

Was watching a news segment on the Yemen famine that has been going on year in year out. The kids are suffering, with severe malnutrition, stomach protruding and ribs showing. With big eyes deep in sockets. It’s nauseating!

Then they boil and mash leaves just to eat and get by. Water is a problem, food is a problem and Saudi rains bombs day in day out.

Village elders, if by chance you met someone suffering from severe malnutrition, what’s the first thing you can do to get them on the track to getting better?

You cannot just give them a plate or githeri or ugali skuma, that will definitely kill them.

What do you do? The first steps?

Are you planning to relocate to Yemen?

Not yet, but ask yourself, if Kenyans were to face war and famine, how would we rectify?

The famine and hunger that people in Yemen are facing is very dangerous. The was thing is that this famine is very frequent. they experience it year in and year out. If you can be given an option to relocate to Yemen, you can not be tempted to go after watching how people suffer their. Recently, the locusts eat there farm produce, so they will suffer again. If Kenya can experince such a famine and hunger, then people could have died in their numbers. That famine is not a joke, people grow thin untill you can count their ribs while standing at a distance of 20 metres. Countries always experience hunger and famine, but that one of Yemen is beyond human explantion.
