Husbands and wives

Genesis 3:6

We read in Genesis 3:6: “When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.” In Genesis, before Eve was created God warned Adam not to eat the forbidden fruit, and it was his responsibility to communicate that to his wife. Clearly, he didn’t do a very good job. As a result, he lost his job and they ended up losing their home. Notice, the devil first approached Eve with the idea of disobeying God. ‘When the woman saw that the tree was good…She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.’ Question: where was Adam when Eve was being deceived? ‘With her.’ So, here’s an important lesson: when a man fails to listen to God and obey Him, he can’t be the leader his wife and family need. He literally opens the door to Satan and allows him to come in and cause chaos in the family. When Satan was trying to sell Eve a bill of goods, Adam stood silently by instead of speaking up and saying, ‘That’s not right. Unless we follow the path God has laid out for us, we’ll lose everything.’ The issue in marriage isn’t about who’s the boss; it’s about honouring the structure God created so everyone in the family can walk in His blessing. The Bible says Satan comes to ‘steal, kill and destroy’ (see John 10:10). But when a husband is truly submitted to Christ, he can protect his family. So, if you’re a husband, you need to step up to the plate. And if you’re a wife, you need to encourage your husband to walk with God and let him know that it’s an honour and privilege to follow such a man.

i think the big question is ,

As we know , God created everything

why did God create the tree that bore the forbidden fruit

why did he then place it in the middle of the garden of Eden

\\

God is all knowing, right? How did he not know the devil’s plans? Better yet get rid of sin, which he created in the first place?

He should have got rid of the devil so that we dont have sin in the first place…

Imagine paradise, living for ever, no tribes coz Babel didn’t happen. Damn, I need a drink!

you folks have very very limited, shallow understanding.

There is something called free will. Freedom to choose what is right and wrong. God will never force you on anything. He will let you know what is right and what is wrong. He will advise and give you direction… But never forces you. You alone decide on whichever path you want to follow.

this! i hope that begins to open your understanding.

Na huyu jane anakaa fine thank you

So God created the forbidden fruit so that adam and eve can have free will to choose to eat it or not ?
Does that make any sense at all ?

Try and place a bar of chocolate on the table and tell your 4 year old kid not to eat it because it will make the kid fat and hope the kid exercises his free will then leave the room and see what happens

@Liberty , kuja saidia wana kondoo, we’re lost.?..

remember, Adam and Eve were not kids. They were just naive. So your analogy is wrong.
And they had lots of work to do in the garden.

Free will comes at a price. Just like freedom.

Genesis 2:
. 16And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

A child will never eat something you have told them not to eat if they have never tasted of it. Not until someone else ( saitan) comes and convinces them that the "Chocolate"is very good. Only then, will they eat of the “forbidden fruit”

Genesis 3
1Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
4“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5“For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
6When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it

still not answering my question
why did God create the forbidden fruit ?
To tempt adam and eve ?

the bible does not say how old adam and eve were when they ate the forbidden fruit , an educated guess would suggest they were no more than 5 years old
think about it

God gave Adam the responsibility of naming the animals and tending the shamba. Is that the work of a 5 year old? No. They were not children.
When God created it, He put it there so that Adam and Eve can exercise their free will. With it, plus the instructions, they were free to choose.
God doesn’t bind you to do His bidding. He gives you instructions and you follow. Choices have consequences.

how then could God command adam who at the time had no knowledge what so ever of good and evil not to eat from a tree that he squarely placed in the middle of the garden of eden ?
why could he not have placed the tree on top of Mt Everest where poor old adam who was totally clueless (the guy did not even know he was naked ) could not reach it ?

the truth is that the bible is a collection of middle eastern fables designed to scare and intimidate its readers

God is real

but Adam and Eve were not the first human beings on this earth

Fact

according to the bible adam was created not born
the earth and everything in it was created within 7 days
so if I say adam was no more than two weeks old when he named the animals , would I be wrong ?

I will request you to take a bible challenge for 2 months. Read a chapter from the New Testament and the Old Testament. Then we can compare notes in Feb in regards to the above statement.

God is almighty. Whatever he speaks, comes to be. If He says you are a lion and will eat grass like Nebuchadnezzar, It shall be so.

Genesis 1:27New King James Version (NKJV)
