No invitation letter is needed for tourism purposes but to get the visa your ‘pocket must be heavy’. African countries are high risk thus you have to convince them that you don’t intend staying in their countries. Some embassy need to know your itinerary, like what you will be doing for the days you are in their country, a return flight, hotel booking and proof of employment or ownership of business, children, wife…etc. You have to show strong ties with your country.

You were in Frankfurt the other time. Anyway, the humiliation to full-blooded African men when applying for VISAs to europe is too much. When you have otherwise, dont go. I mean, these people want to know how much money you have, sometimes you have to deposit money in their countries to prove you will not be begging there etc.

From experience, tourist Visas for Africans to Europe and USA is a daunting process. I would suggest you visit Asia or other African countries that don’t require a Visa first, unless you are prepared to go through that grueling process of proving to the consulates that you are not trying to escape Africa.
