ICC CASE withdrawal

Gatundu South Member of
Parliament, Moses Kuria, has
asked President Uhuru Kenyatta
and his Deputy, William Ruto, to
sack Foreign Affairs Cabinet
Secretary, Ambassador Amina
Mohammed, for contributing in
the continuation of their cases
facing them at the International
Criminal Court (ICC).
Speaking in Gatundu Christian
Church during a special service to
pray for the nation and the
people of Gatundu South, Kuria
accused Amina Mohammed of
deliberately refusing to withdraw
Kenya from the Rome Statute and
the ICC despite Parliament having
passed a motion to that effect.
He noted that Amina’s refusal to
pull Kenya out of ICC is what has
given Fatou Bensouda impetus to
proceed with Uhuru/ Ruto’s cases;
otherwise they would have
collapsed by now.
Kuria has already filed a motion
with the Leader of Majority, Aden
Duale, to summon Amina
Mohammed to explain why she
wants Uhuru/ Ruto jailed at The
Hague because of her failure to
effect the withdrawal clause.
She will also have to explain why
she should not be sacked for
ignoring Parliament’s directive to
pull out of ICC.
