If you had to retire now..what would you do and where would you stay?

A lot of us have grown up with this image of retiring in that nice posh mansion you plan to build in your village and practicing farming dairying/farming whilst you are at it - a dream perpetuated by how our old folks did it; work for a company, get your gratuity and retirement benefits and head home. Does this even make sense in the current landscape? Like apart from your wife, one does not even have age-mates in the village you can hang out with given that you mostly grew up and worked in the city/towns and most of your buddies are there. Mzungus retire at a very advanced age and spend their retirement savings traveling the world for a bit and then the rest in retirement home. Ever thought about what you may want to do during your retirement and where - as in location? would you continue working?

I think people should not be made to retire; likewise people should not do one type of job all their lives; having multiple life experiences is enriching. At some point, they should switch to doing what they enjoy, even working on a part-time basis, also participate in community activities mentoring the young.

The day you stop working is the day your body begins to deteriorate. But I like deep sea fishing somewhere near Kilifi. Land expensive as hell there.
