imei's tribute to the garissa #147

I just cant fathom how a nation would loose 147 of its youngsters and barely 72hours is business as usual and kenyans in their characteristic style moved on and the leaders seem to be not having clue how to deal with the insecurity problem. I never went to university just because i missed the cut off points by a point ( i had 66points the cut off was 67) for direct entry hailing from a poor background my parent could not afford fees so i had to get a job as a clerk and join college as a part time student. I remember how heartbroken i was and coming from a society like kenya where success in school boils down to the score you get in kcse i saw my world crush infront of me. I had hoped to study civil and structural engineering but it remained that just that-a dream. Hailing from a village where you could count the number of children in colleges and universities under govt sponsorship made me work hard at excelling in school . I was happy for those who made it ie score a mean grade of B+ and above cause the prospect of joining a leading university was a pathway to success in life coz it ensured you got a good job (atleast thats how i thought) those of us who could not make the cut off well there was not much that you could do the options were repeat form four and hope this time lady luck shined on you, village polytechnic or ttc( depends if you knew local power brokers to guarantee bursaries) or local financing like harambees …Thats why for me garissa is a personal tragedy because those kids had worked hard in class or their parents toiled so much to send them there. With them they carried ambitions dreams and inspiration to many kids back in their villages, with them went future leaders, industry captains, game changers et al … Its always the kids to bury their parents not the other way round.
To al-shabab and their sympathisers you will never win no matter how many you kill or maim and one day your actions will catch up with you. In this life there is a price to pay always soon or later…
To the garissa #147 shine on your way …imei will never forget you…

At old monk am not bitter in life but i have no reason to lie on the memory of those who died anyway choose whatever you want to believe bro

This is the most saddening part.

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."Gospel of St. Matthew 5:3-10
