IMPORTING REFURBISHED LAPTOP FROM US VIA DHL

so guys i want to buy a $400 refurbished laptop on ebay and ship it for $55 via dhl express, I’m new to this importation stuff and I’m a bit unsure of what to expect during customs clearance,so any info would be highly appreciated.

Tumia kentex cargo and wait three weeks. If you know you know.

I don’t know,tell me

@incognitus i heard you’re an expert

Just freight cost. If you know you know. Talk to them.

I’d steer away from Ebay if I were you…just get someone in the states to buy it then ship it to you.

Patia @snapdragon hio pesa upate laptop poa tax free…

Duty, KEBS sticker, handling stolen goods (some stolen through robbery with violence)!!

wah, ati stolen goods

locally ziko overpriced

Hii ni impossible Kenya.
For 279$,I can get a laptop with ryzen 3 2500u, 4gb ram, 256gb ssd on Amazon. If I hit 350$, the RAM gets to 8gb, the ssd is exchanged fora 1tb hdd and the processor a ryzen 5 2500u
For 400$, a Ryzen 5 2500, 8gb ram, 512gb ssd

Now let us look at Kenya. A laptop with 4gb ram, 128gb ssd and the first generation ryzen processor costs 60K! Hiyo ni 600$. Wtf!

To get ryzen 5, 8gb ram - in kenya you need 60K and above

what’s your experience with ebay

the version i want to import costs $450 ,Kenya ku buy it’s 78k minimum

To avoid so much drama go to Amazon n buy a new laptop. They are cheaper than in Kenya. Let Amazon do the shipping it takes at least 30 days. Check out the shipping fees around 12k for international buyers. Kenya along with Egypt, Nigeria and SA are the only countries in Africa where Amazon has presence. Alternatively use Kentex shipping its way cheaper (around ksh.1500 per Kg) and faster. Rem refurbished or second hand electronics attract 25% tax to reduce damping of electronic waste, so new ones are better. Again Amazon has great reviews on best sellers and can be trusted if you read the reviews well plus your own research.

Avoid using posta else you could pay so much in taxes than even the cost of the product

I think hujui @snapdragon

Kugongwa kama sere

enda chinabrands, most of the laptops are dropshipped from china or having warehouses in us or uk

Yes! Or where do you think stolen laptops go? (and they are stolen all over including US). By the Serial number and internal tracking software, utashikwa when the laptop connects to the Internet. Via Interpol, utapatwa kwenu King’eero or even Wahundura!!
