Its is said that Yusuf, the group founder took advantage of poor quality of Nigeria’s educational system,
the frequent labour strikes, the irresponsible leadership at all levels of government, unemployment among the youths, poverty, corruption and insecurity. The poor and youths
saw him as the leader who was to deliver them from oppresion to the promised land.

I believe this forms a good comparative study with what is happening now in Kenya today. Some scholars have observed that ideology has the strong
capability to create social mobilization, and the group behind the mobilization can effectively exploit the frustrations in society to promote its beliefs. I might be wrong on this but the Kenyan crisis may risult to another boko haram. This will depend entirely on how the goverment of the day handles the whole election crisis

1.Nonsense! First ofall, a millitia of the likes of BH can never evolve in Kenya because if you haven’t noticed, of the 43 tribes, only one is going on a riot spree.
2. BH is from northern Nigeria, they always had people who had millitary experience because the millitary of Nigeria is to date made up of Northerners. The so called NRM do not have such a luxury. The millitary in Kenya is dominated by kalenjins and kikuyus.
3. Say NRM would be like BH. Like BH, their activities would be confined to a certain region which would become an economic dumpster. BH has never struck beyond the city of Jos. Lagos has never had a BH attack. Yet Nigeria functions, you will expect the same for Central kenya. It will still function as like Lagos, it will be immune to attacks.
BH is oversetimated, though it has by far killed more people than any terror group. That though has more to do with an inept Government(the PDP under Jonathan had plenty of Northerners) which had Northerners who tried to block all efforts to crush BH. Jubilee has no such restraints.

WISHFUL THINKING MY FREN. STOP BURYING YOUR HEAD IN THE SAND AND EMBRACE REALITY.

THERE IS/WAS NO ELECTION CRISIS. ONLY SOME ANGRY LUOS PERIOD. RAILA LEADING.

UNEMPLOYMENT IS EVERYWHERE IN KENYA. BUT THOSE SHOT DEAD IN PROTESTS ARE 99.9% LUOS.

NON SENSE.

Papa in everything you study please apply your mind more i.e go an extra step, contextualize issues, don’t regurgitate stuff. Unemployment rates are high in most third world countries. Do they all have boko haram kind of groups? We have Americans who have joined ISIS, does America have failed institutions despite a buffoon president? Fikiria please

@Deorro…this is subtle form of incitement and it’s premised on malice. What will you do about it?

And how am i inciting?

An oppressive government gives way to a hardcore citizen which can do anything when they reach a point where they implode …

Hamuna tv …???

By hard-core citizens you mean LUOS. Shut the fuck up.

No kamba or Turkana has been shot or clobbered by police. Ask yourself why meffi

@coldpilsner you’re trying too hard to picture a failed state in Kenya. But be kind to yourself and move on. Kenya has a well-oiled security apparatus and BH bullcrap n other militia attempts would not be allowed not even for half a day.

If MRC failed, then don’t expect major revolt

so in summary NRM can become a terrorist organization, and it’s leader Raila Odinga can become a fugitive warlord…

I understand the owner of this thread lives in Nakuru.I can now start relating where the bitterness comes from.I will never judge you

This word HARDCORE should seize being put in the same sentence with these maafakas. Luos (not all) especially those brainwashed by RAT are the worst cry babies walking mother earth. To me they’re like your ill-mannered wife who intimidates and provokes you then when cornered runs out to the neighbors house crying foul. I know hardcore Kenyans who after being dragged down to their knees (business wise) by these goons, will rise up from scratch and build empires. If only they (luo goons)would convert that stone mentality into real brains + the attitude tunaweza songa sana.

It seems everyone is ignoring the single most important factor that led to the rise of boko haram, islam. Even al jazeera ignore this probably because they wouldn’t want to potray their religion in bad light but the radical nature of islam provided fertile beds for the most narcissistic of the society to prey upon the weak.
The conditions you describe above are not unique to nigeria but common across the continent. I therefore argue BH arose due to specific failures of nigerians, they would be difficult to replicate anywhere else.

Ooooh please
