I don’t know why people aren’t freaking out over this Internet of Things phenomenon. As if our phones and computers aren’t snooping on us enough, we have to give normal household appliances the ability to do the same.
This is how the machines will rise ya’ll. It’s only a matter of time before they become intelligent enough to do things like locking us in our houses for extended periods of time, or abruptly changing the temperature of our homes while we sleep (thermostats), or just outright murdering us for whatever reason.

There was a certain period I used to hold conversations with a robot ( siri)
I told her that she’s stupid.
Her reply : I’LL REMEMBER YOU SAID THAT WHEN THE MACHINES TAKE OVER THE WORLD!! :-[

I think this is why companies like MS and Google are betting big on AI. They see a future where everything is controlled by AI (Skynet?).Example, you are heading home and instruct AI to do something for you before you get there: “Hey Cortana, Warm my tea for me.” It’s awesome and yet scary.
Future apps will only have to interface with these AI and feed data into them. Ever noticed how you can Google something and Google just gives you the answer right away, you don’t have to navigate to the site that has the info?

But you know we’ll have ourselves in a twist if we ever get to a point where we take a fridge for service because it doesn’t take pictures.

No wonder dim eyes are banking on electronic registers, they might just be programmed to reject shiny eyes names
Unashtuka na tayari kuna vacuum cleaner that are connected, you can get them to do the cleaning directly, or even tell Amazon Alexa to tell the cleaner to do it’s job at a certain time.
