Is poultry Farming profitable?

Hi business Guru’s. I have this thought ya ku anza a poutry farming and i have no idea in that arena. Niko na idle piece of land 100 by 100 and been thinking of like starting hii poutry biz with the kienyeji chicken kama say 250 ama 500 heads ivo? What do i need to know? Asante

Fuga puppies…

if you know u know

It can be profitable but it u must know it’s a game of numbers. The cost is quite high. Feeds, power and labour will eat all revenue. If u hatch the chicks yourself u can get something sabstantial but not that much

Uta tafuta soko?

Ok. Am just giving it a thought kama inaeza work

But don’t discouraged. Give it a try. Get an incubator and hatch the kuroiler chicks. This is less capital and labour intensive.

Profit = Revenue - Costs. Just because an idea is profitable for others does not mean it will be profitable for you. And just because someone says a business is not profitable does not mean you can’t make profit. It may be profitable for others but you dont know their costs and revenue and you may not be able to copy their model. Imefika mahali Kenya kila mtu amejaribu kila kitu…biz sio kitu ya kucopy paste, you need to innovate. It is better to ask for ideas on how to increase revenue or reduce cost instead of asking kama ni profitable…hutawai fanya biz ukiuliza kama ni profitable. Mtu hapo amelia ati dont try juu ya wizi, maybe you can come up with a strategy to reduce wizi instead and out do the competition. If its profitable then kila mtu atafanya then it will stop being profitable coz of competition…only those who INNOVATE survive.

Basically, ask yourself how much chicken people are willing to eat (ama kwa bushery zinaenda kuenda) and for how much. Then for that unit cost, calculate very coldly baridi ice ice baby how much will it take to produce it. Factor in the WORST CASE SCENARIO. ikiwa umehesabu all inputs and they are South of selling price you are willing to let go of then jaribu na a few units. I suppose this is the generic business strategy for anything. Find how to minimise costs so you’ll make a profit even at low selling price

Noted. Asante
