I downloaded 1080p music videos from YouTube in mkv. I need to convert to mp4 since they cant play on my tv (using a hard disk).
I’ve tried all converters, most have failed. The best so far is handbrake but comes out bila sound.
I got ffmpeg but sijui how use the command.
Try format factory or try using the same programs and convert to .avi. Next time downloand in mp4 using keepvid or savedeo

I use idm, it only quoted download options in mkv. And my tv plays some files in mkv formats
Converted files have no audio
No audio on TV or playing on PC? The video container might be using audio stream that isn’t supported by your TV. Check if you can convert audio as well/down sample in Handbrake. If it fails the extract video and audio separately. Convert audio to MP3 then merge them in MP4 container. Am sure any TV will play that.
EDIT: Or try using youtube-dl. It’s probably the best YT downloader out there.
No audio in the converted file when i use pc.

Nliwahi pata shida kama iyo, the only thing I did was to rename the file to .mp4
sometimes IDM only offers the the MKV option, maybe u can use any video converter

I tried handbrake, xilisoft, mediacoder, all video converter. All failed.
Solution: ffmpeg.
This software runs on command prompt and can do extreme and precise shit. You just need to know the commands well, its decoding frame by frame of the video. Simply impressive.
