talkers wenye mkona IDM download speeds zenu hukuwa aje?
Nikona Safaricom home fiber (5Mbps) and i know that in order to know your download speeds according to the plan you’re in you divide your plan (Mbps) by eight, so in my 5Mbps plan the download speeds should be 625KB/s na hivyo ndivyo ilikua. but after installing IDM and using it as my default downloading program, speeds were ranging from 3MB/s upto 11MB/s (see picture below), in the picture below i was able to download a 3.8GB video from youtube in just 4 minutes at 11MB/s download speeds, wadau, maisha ilikua imekua msuri saidi hivyo and i thanked the good lord in heaven for blessing me with such great speeds. everything was fine in the first day of using IDM, i downloaded tons of stuff at great speeds (didn’t exceed 50GB though). however, on the second day, things didn’t go so well. it started of well with download speeds ranging from the usual 3MB/s to 11MB/s depending on the severs you’re downloading from, so while i was downloading some movie at 8MB/s D-load speeds, the speeds suddenly plummeted to some bullchiet 400KB/s to 750KB/s and it stuck there completely. from then on everywhere i download from the speeds do not surpass the bullchiet 400KB/s to 750KB/s, mazee, after nimeanza kuenjoy hizo speeds wazimu za superbike saitaan akaamua ani DFHKMBL akageuza superbike ikue wheelbarrow. very unfortunate turn of events bana, mans amekuwa na huzuni sana nikama mtu amekufa. sasa swali langu ni hii wadau, kuna vile naweza saidiwa na hii situation? ama safcom wamenikuta waka nyonga speeds so ni kubali tu naku shukuru i enjoyed it while it didn’t last.

haha…You need 50 Mps for your kind of stuff. You are saying you want to download 10s of gbs of data a day at 10mbps for 2500 per month? You technically want free things and they dont exist. ongesa ifike 50mbps or thereabouts.

the thing is i actually downloaded tens of gbs of data a day at 11mbps for 2500 per month:D:D but it didn’t last long though, lakini kuna ya wengine wame enjoy hivyo tangu fiber ifike kwao years agoo_Oo_O
hehe, for me to download at 11mbps they must’ve put me on the 40Mbps plan that cost 10k per month, shait:D:D wange wacha tu angalu mwezi moja tuu iishe:D
though a soon as they connected me, i went and checked my speeds from speedtest website and it came out as 5.4Mbps download and upload.
Lakini pia speeds natural haziwezi karibia advertised speeds. there is alot of stuff going on especially when wireless is involved. Even when you copy someting directly to hardisk it hardly hits crazy speeds advertised by ISPs. if a river can provide 5000 litres per second, it doesnt mean that your piping from the river can deliver 5000 litres per second at your end.
Fair usage policy, unlimited doesn’t necessarily means “tumia venye unataka” especially when it comes to the likes of Safaricom, Airtel, Telkom etc… data transfer “bandwidth” is always monitored, in the event you deplete yours so fast the way you naively did, it is always capped (Reduced to slow transfer)
