You must be using a phone. That captcha is tougher on phone users.
The way it works on computers to check if you are a bot is it sends lots of data about your browser: cookies if logged onto Google, your mouse movement before you clicked on the button, scroll location, browser type, etc. When it cannot figure out whether you’re human or not then it asks you to solve a picture puzzle.

Get used to that captcha. It’s not going away anytime soon.
