Went to visit an old friend in East London. Time ran out na singeweza enda kwa kinyozi wangu wa kawaida so he shows me his Barber shop. Nikiwa kwa line I came to learn that the barbers are from Rwanda...hawa watu service yao iko juu tu sana..

Kwanza ukiingia kinyozi kuna dispenser ya keringet water & it's free. Most vinyozis in Kenya unaweza kufa na kiu.

The ambience is also good. Kuna air conditioner. There are 8 barbers each with his own spot. Hapo mbele for every two barber spots kuna LCD TV ya Fuji...btw for the young ones Fuji was a big company in the 80s and 90s. Hapo ndio nimeona game ya Kariobangi sharks na Everton. Hao players wa sharks walinibamba sana the way they celebrate after scoring a penalty.

Anyway, kinyozi mwenyewe nayeye anajua kazi. Hana mbio na wewe. Machine ni Philips. Akishamaliza job you're ushered into another section uoshwe kichwa.

There you meet lovely ladies. Kichwa inaoshwa thorougly na shampoo. Then unapanguzwa na very clean hot towel. Btw they have a washing machine to clean the towels.

After hapo ni thorough massage. Kichwa, shingo, mabega, mgongo, thorax, spinal cord etc. Unakandwa kandwa unaskia yes. Akimaaliza Uso nayo inapigwa sand paper na St. Ives.

Then upakwa spirit. Bump control na after shave. ...yani ukitoka hapo you can go straight to your errands. Not a speck of hair.

All that for only 500 bob. So apparently most vinyozis in the shopping centre are now owned by Rwandese. Vinyozi wakenya wasipochunga watakuwa wanajinyoa.
They have to up it. That is for sure. Because my friends take me to salons owned by our neighbors and some dude does my hair, my pedi and mani at the same time. Bliss I tell you. One was an apprentice few years ago na sasa hivi you have to book an appointment!

Service industry needs a lot of innovation, dedication and consistency, hapo ndio most guys fail.
I can't recall, a barber that has ever given attention to detail, to even make sure no hair was left on me after a shave.

Mimi barber wangu shiney eye nimekua loyal kwake for close to a decade juu he prioritizes quality. Hata muwe watu mia mnangoja, hawes harakisha ati asipitwe na pesa. If you're impatient then you're free to go to another kinyozi. Alianza kuninyoa na 50 Bob na sahii ni 200. Customers wanazidi kuongezeka tuuuu.
