Sijachungulia huko, for the same reason I was never interested in participating in jamiiforums. These people post 50,000 word essays as replies, even when the reply can be summarized in one sentence. Who has the time to read a 50,000 word reply in Kiswahili mufti? The few times I found myself on JF, I would see some threads with up to 5,134 replies, and I would ask myself, “seriously, what new concept has the person who posted the 5,134th reply introduced that has not already been covered by the other 5,133?” Hapa KT ata thread ikihit 100 replies we pat ourselves on the back, calling it a “megathread”. Meanwhile kwa wa-TZ, hapo ndio wao humalizia salamu ndio sasa waanze kuchambua uzi :D:D:D

Tanzanian are very serious about social media influence, use and as a revenue/advertising source. Almost every single TZnian with a smartphone has a fb/instagram account and they are always online. (Wanapenda Ku posti). Can’t count the number of online TV stations NOT a physical station per se with masts and all. From MillardAyo, Dizzim Online, Global TV Online… And all very professional and paid a good dime for it. Soo many and with a million plus subscribers. Though most of the content ni umbea. I don’t think we have e.g. a single proper online TV station other than our local stations that stream online. So kudos to them.

Matter of fact, Jamii forum has helped a lot of stuffs in good governance of Tanzania… That’s why the president has shut it down… Coz people have exposed government irresponsible behavior, corruption, and any kind of blunders via JF platform.
