Today i happened to have been so broke.A friend of mine paid me a surprise visit.For the last two months;i had quited dogogio.He tempts me and i find myself in a local club and iam tempted to rake a few tots ago leads me to taking two beers which leads to more beers.
It’s already 9.30p.m and Alcohol taking the better part of me,i start dancing.
The Dj is Playing Luo songs and iam feeling odd one out.
And i immediately head towards him.
“Bro huku hakuna Wajaka,tuko Kiambui,Brathee tucheezee Samidoh”
And immediately he does so.
He starts with Samidoh and Joyce wamama’s song ;(As i always refers to it).
No sooner had the first played and the DJ tunes to DEMATHEW songs.
(I was already baptized with Samidoh’s songs am i felt and i felt no other music should play besides Samidoh’s songs.)
I madly walk towards the Dj,and angrily i start questioning him;
“Budaa kwani Umelipwa usicheze Ngoma za Samidoh,ulilipwa Doo ngapi nikurudishie?”
The Dj kept on looking at me without answering.I just coil myself back to my sit and my phone automatics becomes my comfort.Iam not in a mod dance neither talk…I login to my Facebook Account and the first post i come across is ‘John Demathews’ with a Mysterious caption which i found it hard to beleive.
I immediately switch on to my google account and i search john Demathew and automatically redirected to some latest News of which it was hard to Beleive.
Demathew was one of my Favourite Kikuyu Benga musicians and i have always felt that Samidoh was the next biggest Kikuyu Musician.
I have been left with a big shock and with my friends having had ordered me a bottle,i have commandly ordered the Dj to Play John Demathew Songs of which he is doing as iam walking down stairs to where i reside.
RIP John Demathew,you a legend and you will forever live to be remembered .
