UPCOMING ELDORET TOWN BYPASS

The upcoming construction of Eldoret Town Bypass starts at Cheplaskei Centre located 20Km from Eldoret Town along the Mombasa – Malaba Highway (A8), traversing through Kapseret Centre on the Eldoret – Kisumu Road & terminates at Leseru (Maili Tisa). The Bypass is jointly financed by the GoK and @AfDB_Group at a cost of Kshs. 5.1 Billon. The road works is being implemented by China Wu Yi Company Ltd under the supervision of the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA).

Eldoret is privileged to be earmarked as one of the flagship Metropolitan Regional Development areas in the Kenya Vision 2030.The town is expected to spark o development in line with the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) at both urban and rural levels. To realize the above dream, the Government of Kenya (GoK) through the Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA), intends to construct Eldoret Bypass to ease congestion which is usually experienced in Eldoret Town.

The East Africa Community (EAC) Master Plan for Transport (2012) identifed the Multinational Uganda – Kenya: Kapchorwa – Suam – Endebess – Kitale – Eldoret Bypass Road link as one of the key economic corridors in the region. On completion, the bypass will play a key role in decongesting Eldoret Town by diverting most of the traffic away from the commercial centre.

Construction of the Bypass will result in numerous benefits for the local communities & the region at large, key being decongestion of Eldoret Town, faster travel times, ease of access to Eldoret’s environs for the locals which will also boost socio-economic growth in the region and creation of employment opportunities.

ahsante jubilee tumengojea saidi

It was Monday and I was becoming worried where the Jubilee Adm Sec wa Ktalk ako haja leta development na siku inaisha. Lakini are these development roads only hakuna kafactory pahali itaemploy the 14 Million jobless youths? Ama factory isnt an easy conduit like roads. I saw Sonko threw a bash to celebrate his 100 day achievements? Ameuza Nairobi to Waarabu? God help this country coz where things have reached, sioni binadamu akiwesmake kutotoa in the deep ditch we are in that is getting deeper by the second

That is a welcome move. … the traffic grindlock at Eldoret town has been a nightmare… this will eliminate heavy trailer trucks from Eldoret’s CBD then congestion will be a thing of the past. Additionally it will open up Cheplaskei, Kapseret and Maili Tisa areas for development. Kudos! Waiting eanestly!!

Good Job! Politics aside, we want development
