Jubilee development: Completion of Phase 2B of the standard gauge railway — from Naivasha to Kisumu — is still on course

despite the government rehabilitating the metre gauge line, Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia has said.

Eventually, the SGR will reach Kisumu and finally Malaba, only the timing has changed.

Mr Macharia said that he met the Chinese Minister for Commerce, Exim Bank officials, Uganda President Yoweri Museveni on Tuesday to conclude talks on securing funds for the project.

Ati sasa CS Macharia anaweza panga mpango wa kuuwa DP
Ruto hapa alijichenga

In my eyes Macharia ni mafwi imesukumwa Ruai.

CS macharia is useless kabisa. This news would be more believable if someone else was making it. For example that rehabilitation of the meter gauge line from Naivasha up to Kampala has no funding from anyone. So when he says it will be rehabilitated at a cost of $200 million - 20 billion, ask him from where and by whom?

However its true, Chinese government has okayed the funding SGR Kenya to Malaba and Uganda SGR to Kampala. Its up to Exim bank of China to decide if it will be a full loan or half concessionary loan as President Uhuru requested in the same meeting in October 2018. President Museveni was in China to work on this deal at the sidelines of his state visit to China. Eventually SGR Kenya - SGR Uganda - SGR Rwanda - SGR DRC will be built as a land bridge across Africa connecting nations and the two oceans Indian-Atlantic. World shipping can then bypass Suez canal and volatile region.

Let’s refresh ourselves why Uganda picked Kenya for its SGR link. There was really no other option.

But is Rwanda not connecting with theTz SGR? I thought Kagame abandoned the Kenya-Ug SGR and decided to link up with TZ…

Are you sure about BRT ? May be you used MSL

Macharia works for others not citizens. For tenderpreneuers

cheki maneno, apan tambua jam

Ulizeni Mkosi @mgosi

He is the one who supplies government herb smokers with herb

The BRT part is fake news

The best part is that all construction phases up to Kampala are built simultaneously. Just like it took them a record two years to build phase 2A 460kms Mombasa - Nairobi. They split it into 7 sections with it’s own construction crews, equipment and manager. The thing is build quickly and operationalize it quickly. That’s what is getting us Rwanda and DRC onboard. The fact that construction timeline is known, fast and funded. This month SGR Kenya broke a lot of records. Transporting 1000 containers from docked ships and delivering them to Nairobi in 8 hrs. That’s offloading directly to the SGR track on the port and getting them to Nairobi before the ship has completed offloading other general cargo at the port. That’s great efficiency, the ship pilots gets to be told his customers cargo has arrived to destination even while he is still docked at the port berth. Shipping lines great reviews is getting us more loads and bigger ships to the port.

I hope this livestock can read this before he opens his ignorant mouth on K-Talk again with big unsupported prattle and rants @mgosi
