Kirinyaga na Mugoya what have they accomplished? Apart from one company ISSACO that re-built most of the roads in Nyeri na si ya wakenya halisi I think they are Israeilis which other?

I wouldn't even vouch for George Issaias Co. Ltd (ISACCO), travel the Nyeri Nyahururu road today, you will count potholes,why would you carry out spot repairs on a stretch of road re-tarmacked 3-4 years ago? Quality of workmanship.

Which is why I said 'SHOULD'. I am not saying we give these cowboy contractors (Kirinyaga, Mehta, Mugoya et al) these projects instead of the chinese, I love what the chinese guys have done and what I would like is to have Kenyan contractors who can achieve similar thresholds in terms of quality, some of these projects are not too complex for our engineers.

I think the problem is largely mental, we have the expertise, now we need to nurture that risk-taking appetite which is necessary for capital intensive ventures.

But ni ngumu Papa. How is our Engineering curriculum? Is it upto date?

but the Nyeri - NRB (the A-2 stretch) by itself is a total disgrace for a road that should be in the category of NRB-NKU-ELD-MLB and the NRB bypasses, the stretch was done by Kirinyaga Construction, heard the Co. was blacklisted, didn't care to verify.

When was the last time you used that highway. used it last week and was fine. maybe you refer to ridges and valleys across the countryside as potholes. another example for ISSACCO road is mwea-meru road. No potholes.

used it Yesterday, and potholes are there and so is spot refilling over some areas. Let me clarify that GENERALLY the road is superb
