Kadhi courts

my proposal on constitution amendment is the removal of kadhi courts. It is an insult for our taxes to continue funding these kangaroo courts in the name of “kadhi courts”.

a Christian child cannot inherit his Muslim father, and only kadhi can decide such a case.

Everything exists for a purpose. Wacha tu zibaki.

there is no justification for a secular-christian majority nation to have Kadhi court in the constitution and our taxes used to fund it. Kweli hapo tulikua tumelewa tukipass the constitution

Muslims in the country also pay those taxes you claim are being insulted

Do you know what embracing diversity means?

While you focus on hateful thoughts, the guys proposing these amendments are busy creating amendments to loot and overburden the tax payer.
Kadhis court are nothing more than marriage and divorce courts. If you take them away, we can still have rulings in secular courts, just the way a judge can choose to listen to customary laws to rule or come up with a verdict.
I’d suggest you stop getting carried away with this, it’s always existed and has never interfered with anything, and Muslims also pay taxes anyways.
What we need is MPs and legislators reduced, to ease on government salary expenses, while these guys still steal and squeeze money from projects.

Watoe hizo kadhi court za ma ghassia . Kenya is a Christian nation

But you were voting for reform. Anyone who didn’t agree with you was a status quosit

my point is “the kadhi court should be removed from the constitution” let them resolve their issues in normal courts or kwa their religious institutions just like people from other religions do. No religion is superior to the other. I am saying this with all due respect to my muslim bros n sis. Mark you I n my fellow constituents voted overwhelmingly for a Somali/Muslim MP back in my home area (L.aikipia East, where more than 90% population is christian ). So this is not hate speech but a genuine observation.

it’s not abt diversity it’s abt the constitution. it is clear indicated that Kenya does not hv a national religion why then have kadhi court in the constitution? It should be scrapped n their issues be resolved like those of any other Kenyan!

for what purpose? the same constitution advocated for hundreds of MPs and thousands of MCAs, so pia hiyo ibaki!? the thing is that is we really need to amend the constitution, we should look at the whole constitution, not jst being selective on the legislators (MPs, MCAs, senators).

What percentage of courts in Kenya fall under the Chief Kadhi?

Even if the Kadhi’s court is removed from the constitution, it will still exist as a division in the judiciary just like we have environment and land court, children’s court, family court etc.

mkorino unasumbua

But we don’t have Christian courts. They are secular.

Nonsense.

Go get a book and read on why these courts exist, how they function, their jurisdiction and the role they play in society. And while you are at it, draw a map of Kenya without its coastline. Then come back here and advance an intellectual argument based on history, fact, law and precedent. Otherwise, mafeelings pelekea girlfriend.

so we are having Kadhi courts in the constitution because of “fear of retaliation”. I get u mama pima. kweli we are in the land of the cowards and caged!

This is what we call reaching. Finding things to be upset about. How much money is spent on kadhi courts
