Part of business ups and down, but KQ should have been more professional and not political. The moment they accepted the government sweet stories in all this that is where they didn’t do thorough research n make fully business decisions of numbers, destination, prices.
I believe government iliwashow, ‘iko nini, tweendeeee hapana gopaa brooo’
ilikua shamra shamra ya muda, someone mentioned it here if i remember well .wacha tuone march vile itakua…45 people? overflight fee in tonnage close to 11k ndorras, parking fee ya $5K,ngataa close to $60k for the 14hr trip, maintainance after every 14hours,flight crew pay…hii ni hasara tupu buana hata kama kila mtu alilipa $2K
Wekeni stats za how often the alternative route was used and the numbers through the year then tuongee
I would like to believe walikua wamefanya market study before doing campaigns to be allowed a direct route(though this is Kenya, won’t be shocked if they didn’t)
Think it is too early to judge
The mistake that KQ was about to make was making the flights daily. That was outright unsustainable. If they keep like 2 weekly flights, then i can assure you, the planes will always be more than 80% full, to and fro.
Hiyo analysis ilifanywa hapa, ya kusave almost 60,000 bob by using a connecting flight, just explained vile hii flight was bound to fail. Ata kama wewe ni mbirrionaire, 60k is a lot of money just to arrive 13 hours earlier.
KQ will just maintain it juu ya PR, akina spear wakuwe na kazi. But hii flight ingekuwa ya a rational thinking company like Equity, haingewai take off.
