Kenya may miss Olympics

WADA to declare us non compliant, ball into IOC’s court
http://m.bbc.com/sport/athletics/36275649

Hii wada iko na Ethiopians wangapi kwanza??

WADA nimatige WANA

We we’re expecting a verdict today what happened… ???this Brit’s we’re agitating for us to be banned but i hop the outcome will be good.

Relax, its over hype. IOC will not risk Rio olympic any further as its already facing many unprecedented challenges simultaneously. Zika virus is driving spectators away, rio crime wave, brazil political unrest, backlash of possible russia ban (same with L.A-Moscow games boycotts) and now ban to Olympic powerhouse will hurt their pocket (T.V rights sales) due to lack of competitive interest. If there is no Ethiopia/Kenya rivalry in the track events then its not Olympics.

what i don’t like about this entire thing is this business of wada banning countries from sporting activities. Even if doping is systematic or state sponsored surely shouldn’t it be the responsibility of wada to test athletes at major sports events and recommend/mete out appropriate punishment to those individuals? it’s quite unfair to collectively punish an entire nation because of the misdeeds of a few.

This post is wrong. Odiero is tired of watching Kenya vs Ethiopia. They want their own runners competing for medals. The importance of Kenyan athletes is grossly over-stated. In fact TV ratings might be higher if Kenya and/or Ethiopia are missing.

Zika virus has been with us here for generations until our bodies adapted to it kitambo sana.

This debate is so old in athletics. It was even considered to limit how many Kenyan’s can ran in marathon considering we win 90% of them globally. The race organizers refused because they want the top draw cards. Its like limiting Canadian’s on ice hockey or NBA on basketball etc

AP: IAAF says it won’t ban Kenya from Olympics; country will remain on doping `monitoring list’ until the end of the year.

The race organizers refused to ban Kenyans but agreed to limit the number of Kenyans who enter. Thats why nowadays, most City marathons limit the number of Kenyans to 4 or 5

Remember in 2009, the President of IAAF said that the world cross country championships is being killed by Kenya and Ethiopia?
It is true. Europeans have tuned out of the world cross country championships. They are tired of watching a bunch of nameless and faceless Kenyans.
Instead they now watch the European cross country championships which has much higher TV ratings. Its very simple. People want to watch their runners compete for medals.
