Finally the Kenya Post and telecommunication has a woken from a long slumber and made a decision that E-commerce is the way forward.
An e-commerce platform would change the face of trade in Kenya and would provide an economic cushion to distant places like Turkana to avert hunger.
Though I don’t understand why they need a Partnership. What they need is a dozen plus people from Ktalk to deliver an off the shelf platform.
KTalkers local and those far away; work together instead of perpetually complaining about how things are bad. We could make a big difference.
This is good news for Posta; positioning themselves for the big e-commerce tsunami about to hit Kenya.
They should double their efforts in improving upon & marketing the mobile number based address.
Let’s face it, physical address system will not work in Kenya. People will bypass that nonsense for a digital solution. Same way that landlines were eclipsed by the cellphone.
Posta ni umeffiiiii tupu Kwanza hawa mahumbwer made it had for us to own landlines. Na kama ulikuwa nayo when it broke down it takes years to repair. The mbus has left out and we are not boarding. After they did to us now they are pleading with us. Pia KPLC Ile siku watanyanganywa monopoly pia hio itakuwa on its deathbed.
It doesn’t matter how well or how bad we write, it does not alter the malaise in society. However, we have to keep pushing. If you give evil a little space, it will ultimately dominate the space.
As long as we don’t have a proper national addressing system, this is another pipe dream.
No form of nationwide delivery will ever work as long as we keep meeting up with the delivery guy at the closest kibanda.
