Richard branson through his company has developed a similar device but he is not claiming its an invention. … MlT is due to realsed free designs which can be used to make ventilators for under $100 dollars . The challenge for them was develop a cheaper device.

it’s an invention albeit a cost effective alternative and should be patented to protect the innovation of the brains behind it. Nissan and Toyota are both automotives with slightly different ideas behind each but the purpose and functionality is much the same.
