Kenyans, be grateful of MAU Forest.Protect it with all your heart

I happen to have visited my friend who works in one of the labs hapa west coast. Since he is someone senior, he has security clearance to go most of places.

So his task today was to get some water samples from sewage treatment plant to check for contaminating and if all bacterias were destroyed. He went further to check on the chemical composition of the final treated water and that’s where I saw things I didn’t beleive. Mark you this is the treated water that goes back to our taps to drink, even leo asubuhi I had 3 liters of same!!!

There was birth control chemicals, hydrocortisone, vicodine, morphine, mental treatment medication. …name it. But you my brothers and sisters have a natural flowing water from the rain and forest from MAU and you are cutting it down and playing politics! ! I hope your kids will forgive you.

One Jubilee Mp, guess who? Clearly stated -categorically that the Rain falls from the sky after which Mau can get that water!!! Men and Women with hairy groins clapped and I fainted.

I fear for my grandkids

One thing about those clearing Mau forest is that they have left they native land intact. They still have huge tracks of un-cultivated land they can utilize. Why they target water catchment areas no-one knows.

he was right, you know.
the reason it is called a water tower is not because it brings rain but because when it rains the forest allows the water to percolate into the ground slowly, recharging the water table. the recharged water table in turn discharges into rivers emanating from the tower slowly, assuring us of water in the rivers and streams all year round.
when the forest has been cleared, the ground hardens during the dry season such that when it rains, the water does not have something to hold it and it just flows off, causing flooding downstream and leaving little water to get into water table and therefore the ground water is unable to recharge rivers for the entire period between rainy seasons.

West coast wapi huko just asking

Sycophant 101

Without the Mau, Lake Victoria and eventually the Nile would dry up very fast. Egyptians should be protesting.

Yeah I remember this and I still consider it one of the most reckless statement to ever been uttered by a legislator in the history of Kenya. That guy should be in jail. On MAU I would echo one John Njoroge Michuki: the evictions should have happened yesterday. There’s always the best way to do it without having people suffer in the cold!

All the way from baringo , bomet to mau !

Well, you find yourself in Class Three or in a forum that has only 6/7/8 year olds, compress these stories in one sentence that will aid them understand the real importance of trees.

hueleweki.

They are, that why you see some certain quarters are quiet, the move is political harakiri but it’s accepted as a bitter pill.

basi hao egyptians watoe kitu ya kumove hao watu

Simple. What @Eng’iti means is that when talking to the general public you use layman’s language that can be understood by everyone. For example, a statement that trees are essential in the hydrological cycle. You should not hide behind science.

You too should not defend the indefensible simply because your earnings come from the proceeds of grand-corruption that has been orchestrated by the politicians you worship and seek to defend.

Couldn’t have said it better.

Wanatoaga Aid kila mwaka, they bought long range missiles to ensure that the agreements are respected.

That handshake thing has produced some valuable results. Before the handshake this Maasai Mau Forest evictions wouldn’t have been possible. Sections of Jubilee party would have teamed up with NASA to oppose it. And NASA being hell bent on opposing 100% of everything the government is doing would welcome the disgruntled Jubilee rebels.
But with the handshake the disgruntled section of Jubilee has to accept the reality and quietly accept evictions.
Murkomen najua feels like screaming.

bahaha!

This agreement should be scrapped, the agricultural and power infrastructure opportunities of the Lake Victoria are astronomical.
