Kenyans, is this true?

It is now trending that Kenya Airways has suspended its direct flight to the US! Is this true?

No. The number of flights have significantly dropped due to the winter season conditions.

Is this situation specific for KA or it is the current trend around the world in the aviation industry?! I am trying to imagine the purchasing power/liquidity of majority of Kenyans to be able to fly to the US for various reasons including holidays and hence having KA fully booked all round the year.!!!

It’s quite obvious that the number of Kenyans alone who travel to and from the US can’t sustain this route meaning that the larger percentage should be tourists and foreign businessmen. They are actually attributing the drop to prevailing weather conditions in the West, thus of course showing where the weight lies here.

Good, then you have to do a lot of advertisements to promote the route! Marketing manager should do more !

Seems that way. Too much hype was evident when launching the flight.

Naskia delta is launching the direct flights to jkia in Dec 2018

make it the entire region

A probable remedy!

Kenyans going to the US are few, but Americans coming to Kenya are filling up the plane on each return flight.

I am hoping that those who aim to travel to the US from the entire Eastern Africa to us JKIA as a hub and transfer their passengers to KQ. Like having flights from Seychelles ,Mauritius, TZ etc terminate at Nairobi, then transfer to the KQ Flight. That would shore up passenger numbers

This is a great wish! The as I have pointed out before, advertisement is of paramount importance!
