Kenya's Special Forces

@mayekeke i think hawa ndio wanafanya ile training moto:D

Recce Squad Company of GSU

This is a special forces unit within the paramilitary GSU headquatered at Ruiru. The unit undergoes vigorous training both in Kenya and abroad. They are experienced in VIP protection, handling and detonating explosives, security of vital installations, anti-terrorism, sky marshal (the counter terrorism unit on board commercial flights) and rescue operations. These fellas are so lethal in their operations because of their precision, for example, they are proficient in double tap and controlled pair techniques of shooting among other. In situations involving terrorists or other enemies especially close quarters battle(CQB), they are supposed to be very precise by making one shot to equate one kill. The GSU Recce Company has three key sub units. The first one being the Sky Marshal Unit an undercover counter terrorist unit on board commercial flights to counter aircraft hijackings. The second one is the Crisis Response Team which is always on standby to swing into action when situations get out of hand. The third unit is the Rendition Operation Team mostly trained abroad and is deployed to perform delicate and sensitive security operations.

The ‘G’ Company of GSU

Their duties involve the protection of the various state houses and lodges.

20th (Parachute) Battalion
They are commonly referred to as the ‘green Berets’ due the color of the beret they wear. Main tasks include reconnaissance, raids, ambushes, infiltration and border patrol in joint operations.

The best of the best in the 20th Para are in the ‘D Company 20 Paratrooper Commandos’. They are well trained and their operations are very secretive. They are trained to survive in any environment, use all kinds of weapons, collect intelligence

CTRl c+V
Once one has been admitted to the Paras, the hardest and harshest training system ever subjected to a human being begins. It’s almost like torture and the drill sergeants know no other way other than the contents prescribed in training manuals. Personnel admitted in the Paras specialize in mountain warfare operations at high altitudes terrains and exposed to the tough skills of climbing and cold weather survival.

Other than mountain warfare they are also drilled in vehicle insertion techniques, motor vehicle maintenance and mechanics.

But the real nitty gritty of the paras is airborne warfare. Their training involves the ever risky airborne insertion from both fixed wing aircraft and choppers. To this end the paras not only rely on the army’s airborne unit the 50th Air Cavalry Battalion but also the Kenya Air Force.

Indeed high and low altitude parachute infiltration is the main credo of the ‘green berets’. The three main forms of parachute deep cover infiltration are must training for all personnel in the battalion. These are static line parachuting, high altitude low opening (HALO) and high altitude high opening (HAHO). Both HALO and HAHO drops and insertions are enormously dangerous and always run the risk of enemy detection and contact with ‘objective’.

Everything about their special operations are classified and they are sworn to secrecy.

KDF’s Special Operations Regiment (SOR)

The Special Operations Force unit’s traditional missions include Unconventional Warfare (UW), Direct Action (DA), and Close Target Reconnaissance (CTR).

Unconventional Warfare is a broad spectrum of military and paramilitary operations conducted in politically and socially fragile zones, and their activities include guerilla warfare, evasion and escape, subversion, sabotage and low visibility, covert or clandestine operations.

Direct Action involves seizing, damaging or destroying a target while Close Target Reconnaissance involves operations behind enemy lines to provide the theatre commander with intelligence on the enemy or gather information on its terrain and populace.

In general, these elite forces are equipped with advanced equipment such as tactical satellite communications, high-frequency radios, and global positioning systems and medical kits. Their operations target interdiction, survival, evasions, resistance and escape and water infiltration.

Some of the training activities can traumatise even the bravest. They are trained to continue fighting without retreat while remaining flexible even under the harshest conditions.

Their training entails lessons in survival, exposing the men to pressure and suffering while making them masters of disguise, deceit and sabotage.

Ingewezekana every county ingekuwa na special forces response time and beauracracy would be reduced.

Or private ones who can be contracted by county governments.

Since we are all security experts:D. I think bureaucracy ndio humess. The recce took 12 mins to finish the garissa attack. During westgate, they had started clearing floors but had to leave once KDF special regiment came in

Ile cctv footage which may or may not have been edited before being broadcasted showed no engangement with them in other words it was too late.

Ya GUC was a disaster

Ruto’s home?

It happens. Even the U.S walikipata in the Battle of Mogadishu (1993) /Black Hawk Down

Hizi ni chocha tu. The day they storm a building with terrorists holding hostages inside, and save at least 95% of those hostages, then they’ll earn that “lethal” tag.

Different circumstances. Black Hawk down happened when US Army rangers attempted to extract a warlord (Mohamed Farah Aideed) from his stronghold. Obviously they were going to meet heavy resistance. In the other case, emaciated Al Shababoon terrorists attacked a military camp, with soldiers armed to the teeth, and managed to completely overrun it.

For the special forces za kdf, most of their missions are classified but hao ndio walifanya ile surprise attack ya Kismayu from the ocean kwa ile operation ya Linda nchi.
The special forces sniper’s also killed the head of amniyaat(Al shabaab intelligence), Karate, after airstrikes zililipua base yao zikawaflush out. Karate aliuliwa na sniper walikuwa hapo in advance wamejificha akijaribu kutoroka after kusurvive airstrike.

Its not their fault considering most of those ppl who are incharge of security docket are incompetent. These men are elite soldiers so in order for them to do their jobs properly they need bosses who are also top notch. Eg the garrissa incident their bosses boarded the helicopter first leaving recce behind, their bosses where so engrossed in their ego they didnt even consider the situation on the ground.
