Kisumu residents who participated in the anti-IEBC protests on Tuesday are disappointed with the police for failing to use teargas on them.

The lot said a good protest is one where they engage the cops in running battles before they are dispersed.

This was not the case as the police stayed away from the largely peaceful demos staged to push for the removal of IEBC secretariat officials.

This, however, did not go down well with some of the protesters who expected things to get ugly between them and the security officers.

"The police must come and chase us for us to leave. So, we are saying protesting without tear gas doesn't add anything."

"They must disperse us (with tear gas) for us to leave," one of the protesters said.

The group said teargas canisters are bought with taxpayers hence must be hurled at them anytime there is a demo.

"These protests were not successful. As far as we are concerned, demos must be concluded with teargas."

They were right... In what other major occasion(s) are tear gas canisters used?
