Piracy Box Sellers and Youtube Promoters Are Killing Kodi

The Problem
The problem is this: There have been a wave of sellers who decided to make a quick buck modifying Kodi, installing broken piracy add-ons, advertising that Kodi let’s you watch free movies and TV, and then vanishing when the user buys the box and finds out that the add-on they were sold on was a crummy, constantly breaking mess. These sellers are dragging users into the world of piracy without their knowledge and at the same time convincing new users that Kodi is a buggy mess, because they never differentiate Kodi from 3rd party add-ons. Every day a new user shows up on the Kodi forum, totally unaware that the free movies they’re watching have been pirated and surprised to discover that Kodi itself isn’t providing those movies.

There was a claim that KODI would eventually replace DSTV. Not going to happen

ELECTRONICS 4 U MDOSI WAKO ANAKUHARIBIA BIACHARA

Zangu ni genuine…

England v Iceland nini wewe…na EuroExit pia ime happen.

Time will tell. Streaming is trully taking over. Si lazima Kodi…

Admin hii ni recycle.exe. Walianza hii vita kitambo. Husham ndio aliingiliwa kwanza akawacha kuunda add-on for some time.

Kodi to live streaming is akin to what BitTorrent Inc for peer to peer file sharing through torrents.

They both face the same problems. Excellent technological marvels that due to the advantages presented to piracy groups and lack of enough sensitization on what they are meant to achieve the ordinary guy has been made to believe that they are only meant to obtain ‘things that you do not want to pay for’ :D:D

Even with the increasing adoption, Kodi is not set to replace DSTV any time soon especially due to the technical knowhow required to set it up. Halafu mara this link is not working etc etc. same way that torrents have not replaced the major players out there yet.

On Kodi mmmh maybe but Torrents just ask the music industry and movie industry the damage caused.

A lot of the damage was due to their late uptake in embracing technology. You can see this through things like the SOPA act.

In fact the MPAA i.e. Motion Picture Association of America has always opposed almost every stride that has been made in broadcasting. Here are some that I was able to fetch:

[ul]
[li]1920’s – the record business complained about radio. The argument was because radio is free, you can’t compete with free. No one was ever going to buy music again.[/li][li]1940’s – movie studios had to divest their distribution channel – they owned over 50% of the movie theaters in the U.S. “It’s all over,” complained the studios. In fact, the number of screens went from 17,000 in 1948 to 38,000 today.[/li][li]1950’s – broadcast television was free; the threat was cable television. Studios argued that their free TV content couldn’t compete with paid.[/li][li]1970’s – Video Cassette Recorders (VCR’s) were going to be the end of the movie business. The movie businesses and its lobbying arm MPAA fought it with “end of the world” hyperbole. The reality? After the VCR was introduced, studio revenues took off like a rocket. With a new channel of distribution, home movie rentals surpassed movie theater tickets.[/li][li]1998 – the MPAA got congress to pass the Digital Millennium Copyright Act(DMCA), making it illegal for you to make a digital copy of a DVD that you actually purchased.[/li][li]2000 – Digital Video Recorders (DVR) like TiVo allowing consumer to skip commercials was going to be the end of the TV business. DVR’s reignite interest in TV.[/li][li]2006 – broadcasters sued Cablevision (and lost) to prevent the launch of a cloud-based DVR to its customers.[/li][/ul]

Now had they endorsed and encouraged stuff like NetFlix, Hulu for movies and things like Spotify, Pandora etc from earlier on they would have raked in a lot of money since everybody reaps the benefits. i.e. user’s get access to the largest movie and music databases at a subscription, company keeps some, labels/studios get some and everybody goes home happy. In fact, I would not be surprised if they were opposed to the internet :D:D:D:D:D

But ooh, like the local film association, they are as thick as nails and almost opposed to everything but they forget, technology awaits no man.

The fact is, despite torrents etc, they are making more money now than they ever have.

movies make money from cinemas. if you flop at the cinema ole wako because once the DvDs are out its game over. thats why DvDs come out 3 months after cinema release. that is so that the can recoup the production costs and make some profits.
On music ever wondered why most artists organise tours? only few artists sell platinum these days. the rest are ever touring to make their money. Look at Technine.

most though its because they are slow to adapt to technology
