Ex-City Hall finance chief fails to stop seizure of Sh280m
The former finance chief was accused of amassing a total of Sh1.3 billion in about five years he was at City Hall.
The former finance boss deposited more than Sh400 million between January and November 2014 despite earning a monthly salary of Sh85,000 as City Hall.
EACC said Mr Kiamba deposited large sums of money in several accounts held at CfC Stanbic Bank (Sh719 million), Standard Chartered Bank (Sh312 million), Equity Bank (Sh286 million), Co-operative Bank (Sh32.1 million) and Gulf Africa (Sh39.1million).
Again am taking this as my patriotic duty to inform fellow kenyns that this now regular reports of stolen and proceeds of crime properties being seized is just another SHOW like those dramatic (on camera) arrests of bribe taking traffic policeman.
EACC actually protects corruption by being used to selectively “re-visit” individuals for political purposes.
Everyone who worked at cityhall below him and owns a motorcar must have been skimming too. Hiyo ni mshahara ya umaskini. Why do guys even bother to look for jobs if that it what a chief finance gets. Mwathani jeso
Hehehe… Hawa ndo wasee hawaelewi vyenye kuboresha Nai… Instead of amassing all that loot for himuselefu ata angeiba 100 or so and the rest make sure ameajiri vijanaa to clear streets of garbage, unblock sewers, plant trees etc in CBD na estates. Pesa ifikie wengi isaidie wengi. Liquid economy. Instead we just have fools
Less than 1/4 of high networth individuals have clean hands in Kenya. Most have stolen from government at some point in their lives. If you have relatives in those posh places utaskia huku ni kwa so and so alikuwa minister time fulani, the next house ni kwa some vice chancellor wa uni fulani, general fulani KDF, mayor town fulani, etc etc…there is almost always a story linking the mansion to a government position.
He’s now reached the threshold(1billion+) of theft that he can out-maneuver the court system. He should have put it to use locally and it would have been washed clean :D:D:D now he’s been caught with his pants down.
If the EACC, the DCI and the courts worked hand in hand to bring corrupt folks to the book then alot can be achieved…here is the catch, they are all compromised.
Wewe ni fala sana kama unafikiria akina Joe Mucheru and Adan Mohamed left their day jobs to go work for the govt because it pays better.
Kuna kitu inaitwa influence when it comes to govt Jobs. You wield power to your advantage. Thats why unapata a mere MCA na mshahara ya 300k is rolling in several high end cars and has several buildings all paid in cash, while your local doctor/ bank manager earns the same but are choking in debts and driving rickety toyota jalopies.
Now try to imajin how much power a Governor/PS wields!
